The Indonesia Development Bank Projects

The ADB or Asian Development Bank is the bank that provide financing for the country development, this bank has focus on many Southeast Asian countries – one of them being Indonesia. As one of the countries in ASEAN, Indonesia is known for a country which boasts an incredible economy. Not only the largest, it is also the most dynamic in terms of growth. With more than 3 millions of people reported to have come out of the poverty line since 2009, which is an impressive accomplishment judging from the scale. The Asian Development Bank lends its continuous support for the country to not only continue its economic development, but also do preventive measures needed to assist its rapidly evolving economic growth.

With the initial support revolving on its agriculture front in the 1970s, to its educational system some time in the 1980s, then shifting to finance its reform and resilience in the 1990s, the Asian Development Bank assists the country with funding to build a better system and stronger capacity as well as to provide a result based financing form which does not only enable Indonesia to adequately utilize their principle based approach and their own internal systems. There are various projects that recently have been approved and underway:

●      Tangguh Liquefied Natural Gas Expansion Project which has been taking place in the least developed region in Indonesia, West Papua. Being located in a remoted island, it only has two trains, all of which are financed with ADB.

●      Strengthening Performance Management System in the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), the ADB aims to support the country to achieve a more inclusive growth, yet environmentally sustainable at the same time.

●      Sewerage System Development, being approved in October 7th, 2016 this water infrastructure and urban services sector aims to build more sewerage systems in places where it is needed the most.

●      Community Focused Investments to Address Deforestation and Forest Degradation
